How "Causies" Connect with the Communities We Serve

Community is increasingly less defined by where we live and more by a sense of common purpose.

As we inspire and ready thousands of professionals for nonprofit board service the importance of connection to community emerges. This connection is derived from our lived experiences and the people who have intersected with our lives. As our lives change so do these connections - some connections remain, some strengthening, and we detach from others. Change is expected. We move to new homes or jobs, build relationships, start traditions, or welcome new family structures. And through these movements, we find new meaning or become attuned to a new issue.

Community is increasingly less defined by where we live and more by a sense of common purpose.

A sense of community is no longer held together by proximity or place, but rather by a curated web of ties that are unique to each of us because of the value we place in them.

Our team of "Causies" engages in our mission every day. They are also engaged outside of work, with family, nonprofit organizations, neighbors, and through activities and gatherings that bring them meaning. How is community felt by our very own social impact practitioners - our "Causies"?

Immense thanks to our team for sharing their authentic selves.
