Program Associate (Full-Time, Remote)

Cause Strategy Partners is seeking a talented, mission-driven Program Associate who values working in an upbeat, collaborative environment. This position reports to a Program Manager and works closely with program staff and partners to provide programmatic support for our flagship board matching program, BoardLead.

Program Associates enjoy working in an upbeat, collaborative environment. This position reports to a Program Manager and works closely with program staff and partners to execute programs and ensure successful program outcomes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Program Delivery

  • Drive the BoardLead outreach process to nonprofit organizations including:
    • Identifying organizations that could be a good fit for BoardLead

    • Developing and executing an individual outreach strategy to assigned organizations within BoardLead’s parameters and in partnership with programs and Marketing/ Comms

    • Providing feedback to support the development of an outreach strategy to organizations within BoardLead’s network in response to programmatic shifts

    • Executing the outreach strategy developed for organizations within BoardLead’s network in response to programmatic shifts

    • Ensuring assigned organizations receive information about BoardLead and how to apply

  • Manage the BoardLead application process for all interested nonprofits and professionals, including:
    • Present the BoardLead opportunity to hundreds of nonprofit leaders in live information sessions

    • Serve as the main point of contact for professionals from F500 companies as they complete the online BoardLead application

    • Conduct interviews with select nonprofits to determine readiness and fit

    • Lead decision meetings to select nonprofit network participants

  • Drive the BoardLead matching process, including:
    • Prepare matching materials to facilitate effective dialogue, specializing in understanding the governance needs of nonprofit participants

    • Participate in matching discussions with full BoardLead team

    • Match participating nonprofits and professionals

  • Consult to nonprofits and professionals as they explore mutual fit, including:
    • Offer strategic advice at key points throughout the vetting, nomination, and election process for both nonprofit leadership and professionals

  • Manage an individual set of responsibilities and goals to reach desired outcomes

  • Support the growth of the BoardLead program by deepening our impact in existing markets through excellence in service delivery and looking for opportunities to expand into new geographies

  • Coordinate with the learning experiences team to ensure participating nonprofits have access to all of the benefits that come with BoardLead network membership, including:
    • Being knowledgeable of services and supports offered through the BoardLead Network
    • Supporting communications efforts about BoardLead Network events and resources
    • Delivering some of the supports provided for as participants in the BoardLead network
  • Deliver essential information to nonprofits and professionals who move through the process via video, phone, and in-person presentations
  • Guide the ongoing development of program tools and resources, including:
    • Lead BoardLead data management efforts, as appropriate
    • Support BoardLead evaluation efforts
    • Contribute to quality assurance of program tools and systems
  • Perform other duties necessary to effectively administer the program as it develops

General

  • Support ongoing internal and external engagements in partnership with the Cause Strategy Partners team

  • Engage with all employees at Cause Strategy Partners to ensure the overall success of the organization

  • Perform other duties, as assigned

DESIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

The Program Associate selected to fill this position will report into the BoardLead team. The individual(s) selected to fill this important position will be expected to perform their work in accord with the values of Cause Strategy Partners, and to have an understanding and belief in the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion. They must be adept at a number of core competencies, including:

  1. Strong verbal and written communicator: The Program Associate should be an effective, clear, and professional communicator, with an ability to make quick connections, leave positive impressions, and build positive relationships with a variety of external stakeholders, especially a nonprofit audience.

  2. Detail & deadline oriented: Ability to manage workflow effectively, to track and keep tight deadlines.

  3. Possess technological and design prowess: The candidate must be skilled in building and using effective program management and team management tools. Ideally, the candidate should be experienced with Google Suite, including Google Sheets.

  4. Highly efficient & organized self-starter: The Program Associate will be expected to take responsibility for tasks and work both independently and collaboratively across the programs team. They will demonstrate the ability to manage workflow independently, effectively, and with excellence.

  5. Possess social sector experience: Nonprofit governance is our passion; a familiarity with and understanding of the social good sector, either related to corporate social responsibility or nonprofits, is strongly preferred.

  6. Creative & open team player: The Program Associate will embody a sense of positivity and openness, embracing creativity and the sharing of ideas within teams. They will embody a sense of positivity, enthusiasm, and team-building characteristics.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • Base Salary Range: $50,00-$55,000, plus eligibility for a performance-based bonus.

  • Remote work with opportunities to connect in person: Cause Strategy Partners’ headquarters are in New York City, but our organization will remain a virtual workplace for the foreseeable future. All open roles are remote opportunities, with the expectation that the employee is willing and able to travel to in-person team activities from time to time as deemed necessary.
