Program Specialist (Part-Time, Remote)

DESCRIPTION & RESPONSIBILITIES
Cause Strategy Partners seeks a wildly talented, deeply passionate and incredibly fun mission-driven professional to join our team. The Program Specialist will work closely with BoardLead Program Managers and Program Associates to support professionals from Fortune 500 companies, philanthropic foundations and nonprofit organizations to drive high-impact nonprofit board placement, training and support.
In this role, the Program Specialist will support ongoing rounds of BoardLead, support data collection as rounds of BoardLead close, and conduct research on nonprofits and nonprofit conveners to support potential future partnerships. After 16 weeks in this role, program leadership will determine whether there is ongoing need for support. The Program Specialist will support external relationship building and management and will provide regular thoughtful feedback on systems and processes to improve our work.
The Program Specialist will be responsible for:
- Providing critical support to Cause Strategy Partners’ Boardlead program, including:
- Supporting nonprofit outreach, applications, and selection, including:
Conducting outreach calls to inform organizations of the BoardLead opportunity
Communicating via email with organizations to answer questions and encourage participation
Managing and updating data collected during outreach to nonprofit organizations
Reviewing nonprofit applications and assessing fit for BoardLead
Conducting interviews with nonprofit Board Chairs and CEOs to learn more about nonprofit needs and alignment with BoardLead
Participating in nonprofit selection days by sharing insights gained through application review and interviews
- Supporting preparations for future round launches of BoardLead, including:
Identifying nonprofits that would be a strong fit for BoardLead in new and existing markets
Conducting research on nonprofit membership and convening organizations
Supporting logistics including processing nonprofit nomination lists from partners, and providing updates to BoardLead managers on application rates, nonprofit selection, and candidate elections
- Supporting nonprofit outreach, applications, and selection, including:
Supporting programmatic data management and organization needs
- Collaborating with the BoardLead and Cause Strategy Partners team in our commitment to continuous learning and optimization as we strengthen the tools, systems, and processes used to execute all programs by:
Sharing and documenting feedback on all phases of program preparation and execution
Supporting ongoing internal and external engagements in partnership with the Cause Strategy Partners team
Performing other duties as necessary and assigned
DESIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
The Program Specialist selected to fill this position will report into a BoardLead Program Manager. The individual selected to fill this important position will be expected to perform their work in accord with the values of Cause Strategy Partners. They must be adept at a number of core competencies, including:
Strong verbal and written communicator: The Program Specialist should be an effective, clear, and professional communicator, with an ability to make quick connections, leave positive impressions, and build positive relationships with a variety of external stakeholders, especially a nonprofit audience.
Detail & deadline oriented: Ability to manage workflow effectively, to track and keep tight deadlines.
Possess technological and design prowess: The candidate must be skilled in building and using effective program management and team management tools. Ideally, the candidate should be experienced with Google Suite, including Google Sheets.
Highly efficient & organized self-starter: The Program Specialist will be expected to take responsibility for tasks and work both independently and collaboratively across the programs team. They will demonstrate the ability to manage workflow independently, effectively, and with excellence.
Possess social sector experience: Nonprofit governance is our passion; a familiarity with and understanding of the social good sector, either related to corporate social responsibility or nonprofits, is strongly preferred.
Creative & open team player: The Program Specialist will embody a sense of positivity and openness, embracing creativity and the sharing of ideas within teams.
Please note the following expectations for this role:
Part-time employment opportunity, with a 29- hour per week requirement
A consistent schedule will be agreed to between the Program Specialist and their manager inclusive of Cause Strategy Partners’ core working hours, which have been set to 10:00 am- 3:00 pm ET
Work will be performed virtually. The Program Specialist will be responsible for using their own computer, phone and other necessary technology. Google Voice services can be provided.
Commit to a 16- week employment period from February through May with the potential opportunity for extension beyond that period

COMPENSATION
The Program Specialist will be compensated $22- $25 per hour, commensurate with experience.
