Seizing the Moment

BoardLead, the signature program of Cause Strategy Partners, was recently featured in the NY Daily News!

The op-ed piece, written by leaders at the New York Community Trust, calls on both philanthropy and the arts community to seize the ‘Black Panther’ moment by doubling down on our collective commitment to greater diversity, equity, and inclusion in the arts.

We couldn’t agree more.

Nonprofit boards should reflect the makeup of the communities they serve, yet nationally just 16% of nonprofit board members are people of color versus 39% in the general population.

BoardLead creates vibrant cross-sector partnerships with Fortune 500 companies, professional services firms, and foundations to strengthen board leadership at nonprofit organizations delivering promising and proven solutions. To date, over 40% of the 201 BoardLeaders we have placed, trained, and supported in nonprofit board service are people of color. That’s more than double the national average.

Now, through a partnership with ADA25 Advancing Leadership and the Chicago Community Trust, we are embarking on a new initiative to place leaders with disabilities on nonprofit boards in Chicago.

We’re proud of all of our BoardLeaders who are bringing new insights, new ideas, new resources and new networks to the missions they serve. Board service excellence, as defined by The BoardLeader Way, is our clarion call for governance in the social good sector.
